The fruit for this wine was sourced from various vineyards in the Durbanville and Philadelphia regions. Future Rustica wines will see the inclusion of other varieties from more regions in the blend, such as Semillon, Viognier and Chenin Blanc. The biggest part of the blend will always be mostly Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is made in a lighter style with lower alcohol and less extract. It is a fresh easy drinker that burst with fruit flavours. It shows cool – climate ‘green’ notes, some ripe gooseberry and papaya flavours with a crisp acidity and an easy finish. Enjoy on any occasion. The name was derived from the Latin for the migrating barn swallow – Hirundo Rustica. It is also the logo of the Nomada wines, which symbolizes our nature of being nomads and our continuous search for better fruit to make the best wine from selected regions. |
