Appearance - Medium dark garnet with purple hues especially at the edge. Nose - Smokey, spicy with prune and briar fruit some leathery notes. Palate - Charred oak with plum and crushed berry flavours make this an unpretentious wine that has classic Shiraz character. Comments - Tasted at the beginning of June 2008. Drink over the next two years and it will further integrate and soften as it develops. VITICULTURE: This 12-year-old vineyard is planted on a southern slope. To maintain the integrity of our fruit, all our grapes are harvested by hand into small lug boxes, and transported directly to the winery. All our vineyards are planted high density and have low to very low yields and are managed according to minimal intervention philosophy. |
