This exclusive red wine is full bodied with plenty of dark red fruit, Chocolate and berry flavours. The wine is complex with well balanced tannins and lingering finish. Vineyard location: Grown at the foot of the Great Winterhoek Mountains, around the town of Porterville in the Swartland Region. The winemaking: The grapes were harvested at between 24.5º and 26º Balling. Two vineyard blocks were cold soaked separately for two days. Each batch was fermented with a different yeast at 22°C (cool ferment) for seven days to retain fruit flavours. After malolactic fermentation the wine was blended and aged in 3rd and 4th fill French Oak barrels for a period of 9 months. |
