Cabernet Sauvignon - Jacob's Quest “Rite of Passage”

This exclusive red wine is full bodied with plenty of dark red fruit, Chocolate and berry flavours. The wine is complex with well balanced tannins and lingering finish.

Vineyard location: Grown at the foot of the Great Winterhoek Mountains, around the town of Porterville in the Swartland Region. 

The winemaking: The grapes were harvested at between 24.5º and 26º Balling. Two vineyard blocks were cold soaked separately for two days. Each batch was fermented with a different yeast at 22°C (cool ferment) for seven days to retain fruit flavours. After malolactic fermentation the wine was blended and aged in 3rd and 4th fill French Oak barrels for a period of 9 months.
